Last year, the crew of The Seaside Style wrapped their efforts around two great charitable outreaches. First we raised over $5,000 for Habitat for Humanity Haiti through the sell of our "Hope for Haiti" Seaside logo t-shirt. Later during the holidays, we supported our local community by volunteering our time, collecting groceries through our annual food drive, and by donating a portion of our sales to Caring & Sharing.
This year we are proud to annouce our partnership with FEED Projects. Through a new collection at Seaside, FEED Projects is joining with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to fight child hunger. The FEED Foundation's vision is for a sustainable global food system where all people can access nutritious food. FEED supports three key areas: Food Security, School Feeding, and Healthy Food for all.
Our Seaside FEED Collection includes the FEED 1 bag, which is made from 100% organic cotton and reverses to natural burlap.
The number "1" indicates that the purchase of this bag will provide one child in Africa a school lunch for one year through a donation to the UN World Food Program. This bag is available at Pizitz Home & Cottage, Seaside Classic, Seaside Beach and www.theseasidestyle.com.
The FEED 3 Bear is offered at Seaside Kids and online. In partnership with TeddyShare, the purchase of "Nut" Bear will provide a nutrition-dense paste for children under five years old who are badly malnourished.
The FEED 100 bag is a convenient, zip-up tote, perfect for grocery shopping or travel. The bag comes zipped up in a burlap pouch which unfolds into a full-sized bag made of organic cotton. Each FEED 100 bag sold provides 100 school meals to the children in Rwanda. The FEED 100 bag is available at Perspicasity and online.
Also available at Perspicasity is the FEED 5 Bracelet. Purchase of this bracelet provides 5 school meals to kids around the world . School meals distributed by the WFP offer hope to more than 350 million hungry children around the world. For many, this is the only meal they will receive all day, and it is enough to empower them to survive, to learn, and to improve their lives. Each FEED 5 bracelet is made off corn-based plastic beads with a FEED 5 charm and comes in a burlap coin purse.
Through the sale of these products, FEED Projects has been able to raise more than $6 million for WFP, donating over 60,000,000 meals. Come help us at The Seaside Style make a difference in the world and get a great gift for yourself or a friend!
